Kumihimo & Rattail (35)
Kumihimo is the ancient Japanese art of braiding. Kumihimo was first created as a form of finger-loop braiding. The most prominent historical use of the cords was by Japanese Samurai as both a functional and decorative way to lace their armour and their horses’ armor.
Today Kumihimo braiding is used in a variety of different ways. It can be used to create colourful necklaces and bracelets, or for decorative additions to clothing and even as a highlight on a quilt or cushion.
Combine Satin rattail with a Kumihimo Disk (available in 2 sizes) and use your imagination to create your own unique styles and patterns.
TIP: Most projects use 3 inches of cord for every 1 inch of finished braid ( 3 to 1 ratio )
